Screenings of two contrasting films about convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal in Philadelphia on Thursday brought appearances from police widow Maureen Faulkner as well as Abu-Jamal himself, who called from prison.

Screenings of two contrasting films about convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal in Philadelphia on Thursday brought appearances from police widow Maureen Faulkner as well as Abu-Jamal himself, who called from prison, reports Philly.com.

Tigre Hill's "The Barrel of a Gun" depicts Mumia Abu-Jamal's 1981 killing of Officer Daniel Faulkner as a premeditated act and has found new evidence showing the cop killer's intent. He has been working on the film, which is supported by his widow, since 2006.

"There is no doubt that Mumia Abu-Jamal wanted to murder a police officer that night, and that person was my husband," Faulkner told Philly.com.

A second film, "Justice on Trial" by Johanna Fernandez and Kouross Esmaeli, supports Abu-Jamal and drew the cop killer, whose voice was broadcast via a call from prison.
