Convicted Wednesday of the gruesome torture and murder of a fellow drug dealer, Travis Stubbs is now charged with allegedly plotting the assassinations of the two Miami-Dade prosecutors on his case.
On March 15, just before opening statements in the trial, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement charged Stubbs on three counts of solicitation of first-degree murder.
His targets: prosecutors Gail Levine and Breezye Telfair, along with a witness in the case, according to FDLE.
According to an arrest warrant, a fellow inmate at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center told authorities that Stubbs approached him shortly before trial. Stubbs said he wanted Levine, a decorated longtime prosecutor, dead because ``if she is not handling his case, then he will win the case.''
Stubbs allegedly enlisted a second inmate to help arrange the ``hit'' through cohorts on the streets, the warrant said.
Stubbs even suggested the killers could dressup as police and stop the prosecutors, or follow them home from work and set up an auto accident to make it easier to shoot them, the warrant said.
