Fort Worth Officer Shoots Suspect After Gun Grab

A 22-year Fort Worth Police Department veteran officer shot a suspect who grabbed his gun during a burglary in progress.

A 22-year Fort Worth Police Department veteran officer shot a suspect who grabbed his gun during a burglary in progress Monday morning, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The officer arrived at an apartment with a door kicked in, a stack of electronics at the door and two men inside. The officer ordered the two men onto the floor. The men complied, yet one lay on his hands rather than show them to the officer. When the officer knelt to force him to show his hands, the man attacked him.

The officer shot the suspect after a struggle over the officer's service weapon. The suspect stumbled outside into the driver's seat of a car where he died. The officer then chased down the second suspect who had run outside via a patio.
