The Baltimore police officer who shot an unarmed ex-Marine during an altercation at a Mount Vernon club was intoxicated during a 2005 shooting that was ruled to be justified, the Baltimore Sun reports.

The department is now investigating whether Baltimore officer Gahiji A. Tshamba was intoxicated early Saturday when he fired 13 shots from his service weapon at Tyrone Brown, after the ex-Marine groped his female companion. Six of the shots hit Brown, who died 45 minutes later.
