The man who allegedly shot and killed Detroit police officer Brian Huff will stand trial on 17 charges stemming from the shootout with police outside a vacant drug house where he ambushed officers, the Detroit News reports.

A judge today ordered Jason Gibson, 25, bound over for trial. Prosecutors said they have recovered the .45-caliber handgun believe to have been used to shoot the officer and a magazine with Gibson's palm print.
