Police said two armed men, pretending to be officers, invaded a south Phoenix home Monday and attempted to steal drugs being kept in the home.
Police were called to the scene of a home invasion near Sixth Avenue and Paseo Way at approximately 4 p.m. when a neighbor noticed two men in their 20s wearing law-enforcement emblems pull up in a pickup truck, force open the garage door and yell, "search warrant," Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said.
When police arrived at the home, they found the two men attempting to "rip off" an unspecified amount of drugs from two other men in the home, Crump said.
Officers John Fink and Jeremy Puhac of the Brunswick (OH) Police Department were called to assist animal control officers who were unable to free a deer entangled in a soccer net.
