Three robbers who attempted to rob a North Miami convenience store were scared off by a uniformed police officer who was shopping in the store at the time.

The three men stormed the North Miami 7/11, which is two blocks from the North Miami police station, at 1:30 this morning.

One watched the door. The other ordered the cashier to give him money. And the third walked the aisles.

The third would-be robber spotted the officer shopping in the store in uniform. He shouted to his comrades, and they all ran.

The officer was not with the North Miami Police Department. His identity was not released.

Note: This is a clear example of why officers should remain alert even off duty or while shopping. These would-be robbers could have decided to shoot it out with this officer. Stay alert. Stay safe.
