A Vermont man motioned for a police cruiser to pull over and asked the police chief inside to take him in for drunk driving.
“He pulled up behind me, rolled down the passenger side window, and said he was looking for a police officer to arrest him,” said Ian McCollin, chief of police in Vernon, Vt. “When I asked him why, he replied, ‘I’m Drunk.’”
According to McCollin, the driver, Bryan Condo, 28, was very cooperative. He was also driving without a license and had a blood alcohol level four times over the legal limit.
Suspicious of the unusual situation, McCollin called for backup to be cautious.
“I was a little concerned, but I also wanted him to hear the story, too,” he said. “I was afraid they’d think I was losing my mind.”
