A woman says a man she saw on the reality television show, “Blind Date,” raped her 14 months ago. She taped the show and handed the video to police, who arrested the suspect on suspicion of rape and kidnapping.

Ulrick Kevin White, 31, of Santa Barbara, Calif., is being held at the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.

“The chances against seeing someone like that on TV are pretty astronomical,” says Ventura Police Det. Russ Robinson, chief investigator in the case.

Robinson says the woman was standing outside of a Ventura bar waiting for a cab when she was offered and accepted a ride from a man she had met there that night. When the man allegedly started driving to a remote area and the woman feared something was wrong, she dialed 911 on her cell phone. Her subsequent rape was caught on tape by a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

White also is awaiting trial on suspicion of breaking into the home of a 22-year-old college student after allegedly following her home in November 2003.
