Court Dismisses Wrongful Death Suit Against Taser

A wrongful-death lawsuit filed against Taser International in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California has been dismissed.

A wrongful-death lawsuit filed against Taser International in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California has been dismissed.

According to a statement from Taser, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., the court granted the stun gun maker's motion for summary judgment on the claims of product liability, breach of warranty, failure to warn, and negligence.

"Our strategy is to never settle these baseless claims and we will continue to aggressively defend this type of frivolous litigation," says Rick Smith, Taser's chief executive.
