"NEC Technologies Awards Contract Valued in Excess of $1 Million to Digital Biometrics for Live-Scan Fingerprint Systems and Customized Software Development"

Digital Biometrics, Inc. (DBI) has received a contract valued at more than $1 million to provide 1133S TENPRINTER S-Series systems to NEC Technologies and work with NEC in the development of customized software for Indiana's Criminal Justice Institute. DBI, based in Minnetonka, Minn., is a provider of biometric identification systems and services, and has installed live-scan networked systems for such organizations as the Immigration and Naturalization Service and Los Angeles County's Sheriff's Department.

The applications it installs include computer-based fingerprinting systems, photographic systems, multi-media data storage and communications servers, and system integration and software development services for identification management systems. It has already begun the software development phase of its contract with NEC and expects to have fulfilled the contract by its third quarter.
