A Denver Sheriff’s Department’s recruitment video was the unlikely winner of the National Award of Excellence at the recent 2002 Videographer Awards.

The Award of Excellence is bestowed by the Videographer Awards, which were established to help set standards in the video production industry. Past winners have come from video production companies, independent producers, directors, writers, and other video professionals. A panel of 11 industry judges chooses each recipient, and the Sheriff’s video was chosen to be one of the winners from more than 2,400 entries.

Sgt. Darryle E. Brown, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Department and David Achilles were the coordinators of the project. “We are honored to have been recognized on a national scale for the hard work and time put into this project. We are especially thankful for the teamwork and cooperation of all involved to make this project a success,” Brown says.

Sport Shooting Foundations Establishes Where to Shoot Website

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has established a new Website to help sport shooters and hunters find places to exercise their right to bear arms.

At www.wheretoshoot.org, you can search the NSSF database by type of weapon you want to shoot, state, and ZIP Code. For example, if you want to know where to hunt in 41512, plug in the ZIP code and “hunting” and the application where search the NSSF database for a location. Shooting facilities that are open to the public are also encouraged by NSSF to add their information to the database.
