I hate Monday Morning Quarterbacking, but what on earth was the Detective doing/thinking? Going hands on with an apparent agitated individual who is armed with a butcher knife?

Folks, review the Calibre Press video "Surviving Edge Weapons" if you have any questions about my concerns.

I have no idea where the suspect was going or if there were any people in the direction the suspect was walking, but the uniformed officer was in a great position, and was using proper procedures, to stop the situation.

Plus, right in front of a building with "Police" on the front? Was that a GSUPD Office or an APD Storefront? Were there other officers inside? Sorry to have so many questions, but I'm not familiar with the area.

It's unfortunate that the situation ended the way it did, and who knows it may have come to that point eventually anyway. Great shot officer, I'm sorry for the aftermath you are about to experience, and I hope the Detective was not injure too severely.

Stay Safe!!

I like the control the uniformed Officer showed. Despite what the Detective did it's refreshing to see a video where the Officer shots one shot to stop the threat. Why isn't this all over the national news to show Police aren't out there "murdering" citizens.

There were people out in front of this suspect and the detective got his attention away from them. I am sorry he had to get stabbed but the suspect brought it on himself getting shot. Once he stabbed the detective he continued his motion for another strike and that is when the officer fires. Good job brothers.

Good call officer. One shot drop. Was suspect black and officer white. Hope the low life's in Atlanta don't need any tennis shoes or liquor. You would not have a problem like in forges on if it was mandatory for police to have lapel cameras.
