Oregon Man Tries to Grab Officer's Gun in Courtroom Confrontation

An Oregon man—identified as 27-year-old Patrick Lemmon—abruptly got up from his seat and attempted to grab the gun of an officer sitting just feet to his left. The incident was captured on video made public on YouTube by The Oregonian. Lemmon was seated in a Lincoln County (OR) courtroom without any sort of restraints, because a judge had denied deputies' request. More here.

Dont know what this defendant was charged with, but more then likely a felony. If that was the case he should have had "shock belt" or perhaps leg braces on ankle cuffs on as ALL felony defendants that are not out on release should have on. This is another reason why some courts do not allow officers to have weapons displayed inside court (other then deputies). Either way this worked out well. I think the Sheriff staff and the officer reacted very well and took care of business!

From the storyline:
"Lemmon was seated in a Lincoln County (OR) courtroom without any sort of restraints, because a judge had denied deputies' request."
