Really....for all those regulation following supervisors out there, let's just stop for one minute and see the benefits. Positive news story. No one is getting beaten, tased or shot by the police. Police are human, too.

Instead, why don't we all just smile and send a message to this young officer and his fiance that "families are important" and we wish him luck, because being a cop nowadays is tough.

So, if you want to discipline him, go ahead. Just make sure his time off coincides with their honeymoon. It'll never happen, this occurred in Texas where there is still a little bit of conservative common sense.

And, if you discipline him, I hope you're ready to discipline everyone else that is screwing off on "company time" or using a cruiser to conduct personal business. By the time you're done with that, no real LE work will be getting done. Smile and let it go.
