Retention of your weapon is so important and to have a handcuffed inmate get ahold of it is a horrible feeling. I had two attempts while I was on duty or a suspect trying to get my weapon. As a fire arms instructor I was able to retain my weapon and use less than lethal force to subdue the suspect with the training that I taught and applied. Stay safe brothers and sisters and get better quick Detective Christy.
