Iowa Deputy Shot, Injured by Inmate at Hospital

A Fayette County (Iowa) deputy was shot in the stomach after he removed handcuffs from an inmate at a hospital. The inmate took the officer's gun and shot him, the bullet being stopped by the officer's ballistic vest. The inmate then fatally shot himself.
