The officers took it too far !!! An arrest should have been made, and the body cavity search , should have been conducted at the jail. This was a stupid, and unjustifiable situation, that shouldn't ever have happened . If they had a zero tolerance mandate or policy, the officers needed to arrest on what they found in the car, and then proceded to have a drug dog dispatched to the scene , locate whatever else there was in the vehicle, and took there investigation from there . Yes they f**ked up , and should recieve what ever punitive results may arise !!! Uncalled for, and you can't tell me that's their protocol !!!

Wow, you wonder why cops get a bad rap.

Capt.Crunch @ 7/9/2013 5:18 PM

Both officers should be checked for drugs. There is somthing wrong with thses officers, how in the hell can you treat another person(s) that way. They both should be fired.

Dont these morons watch the news? Just months ago Texas DPS fired a female officer for the same thing. If the male officer is allowed to remain on the job I don t think he should be allowed to carry a gun !

I am both a Police Chief, in two villages and a libertarian member of the CSPOA, you should look them up they provide education for Peace Officers on the Constitution, because 95% of LEOs never learned the constitution to begin with. It is not entirely your fault that you do not know the parameters of your duties to uphold the constitution because you where never taught, however it is you responsibility to uphold it none the less, so educate yourself. This stop was a clear and blatant violation, , and all in all virtually everything that could have been done wrong was. Learn from this and stay safe out there. Also visit the CSPOA.

This female trooper has also been brought up on felony sex assault charges. Although the search was illegal because it was a custodial search instead of a terry frisk, I do not believe a firing or criminal charges shouldve been brought against her. I think its a training issue and training shouldve been the corrective action taken. As for the Chief above...if you really are a Chief...I recommend you resign your post andfind another career. Do your subordinates some justice as I am sure discipline is rampant at your department for unjust causes.

Thanks for the tip Brother.

I wonder if you would continue to not believe in a firing or criminal charges if that happened to your mother, wife or other loved one.

After serving in law enforcement for over twenty years, I'm amazed at the stupidity of these officers. And yes, BOTH should have been fired. It is the male officers job here to protect these women from a criminal occurrence against them, as a result he violated their civil rights. It sounds like the good ole boys are protecting him.
Also, where is the supervision here? This cannot be a one time occurrence.
