Outstanding reflexes and response, especially for a situation coming "out of the blue". I didn't hear the double tap I was hoping for :o)

Great response to such an unexpected attack! This guy needs to spend some time behind bars. Glad you were not injured.

Anybody that has had training against a knife attacks knows a suspect with a knife is far more dangerous than someone armed with a gun. A knife attacker can close the distance between you and him faster than someone can draw a gun. I applaud the Deputy for quick thinking by moving backwards giving him time to keep some distance between the two of them and draw his gun. Backing up probably saved the Deputy's life and I am glad the deputy was unhurt by the suspect. The Deputy followed his training and it saved his life.
