Fla. Cops Return Fire After Pursuit

Dashcam footage shows two Boynton Beach (Fla.) Police officers fatally shot a bank robbery suspect, who crashed his vehicle on June 12. Calvin Wallace was struck several times and died. The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office ruled the officers were "justifiably in fear for their safety when they returned fire." Read the full story here.

Thank G-d none of the Officers were seriously injured. This shows people how dangerous the job is. I am so glad I lived to retire. Its getting so bad out on the streets, there is a total breakdown of respect for the law and regard for human life in general, yet these dedicated cops do the job each day to protect the good citizens of our state.

Situations like happen far too often. I am glad the officers were not injured. Too bad the suspect made the choices he did.

Bonita C. @ 8/28/2012 6:22 PM

(Sorry for the error) I meant situations like this happen far too often...

i believe Mr.Russell's disjointed, misspelled, anti-Police rant should be removed from this site. It is obvious the officers acted appropriately for their and the public's safety.

Gotta love in car video. Before in car video in situations like this people like Mr. Russell could rant about police brutality and unnecessary use of force and find an audience… Now, even when it’s clear cut that the suspect was shooting at them, he can only make illogical ridiculous statements that make him look like an idiot...

Editor: Please remove ms.russells comments as requested by Mr.Haskins and myself. russells misspelled and moronic ramblings are a slap in the face to the Officers involved and all LEOs. Thank You.

Tschako @ 8/30/2012 9:10 PM

Russell: Grow up, get another life besides cop-hating. Learn to spell and write legibly. Continue to be afraid. You are a good example of what we have to deal with daily.

Love officer two moving in to have officer one move back to cover where he should have stayed. Good lookn' out on his part. Nice work for all brave officers.

We cannot do anything about the bad choices of a lousy human being other than to react to them. The officers were doing as they were trained, which deserves kudos for all. As for the outcome, the suspect determined that. He may not be "in a better place" but the outcome has made this community a better place.

Thank God you guys are ok. Good job my brothers.
