I agree that this officer is who gives all officers a bad name. This guy should be fired, fined, punished & put in jail for NOT upholding his oath. This was just sheer brutalilty. The sad thing is that this is most likely NOT the first time this has happened - IOW there were warning signs before this happened but its apparent that if it was reported there was not enough action taken. Oh well its a lesson for everyone else to act professionally no matter what happens.

this isnt right at all lots of kicks to the head shouldnt happen at all he was alredy on the ground as cops like this gives other good cops bad names

Well I dont want to judge anything till I know the full story. I think often times we forget that we are all human with human emotions and if that criminal did something that we didnt see to make the officer fear for his life then I can understand the adrenaline rush to get him subdued . The media only shows us what will create the most controversy. I think it was really cute to see the two officers hug at the end..aww..I was like that was so sweet. :)

Someone should set this to music. That Officer looks like he was playing Dance Dance Revolution on the suspect's head. Bottom Line: Way outside of Department Policy (unless this was the Ukraine) and I'll wager he has a giant IA weenie headed his way.

Here is the deal, yes he should lose his job, he should lose it all. The Suspected Car Thief will be back on the streets and out of jail. However, the fact that everyone says we are all human is trying to justify a bad deal in which a targeted individual just happens to be a Police Officer. Yes, we are human, but do not try and justify bad actions. That just makes everyone look bad, including yourself. I am sure they were trying to peddle their way out of it.

"Just calm down" I have said that many times to rookie Officers in my years of service and this situation it needed to be said. As a D.T. instructor I always tell Officers to control your emotions at all times on the street. What i use as a tool to stress this is "video cameras are everywhere". Treat people like you would if you were wearing a video camera on your lapel. We all know as Police Officers we get judged very harsh for human emotions because we are suppose to harness these things and be the iron men & women of today's world. Not true!! Remember we are human too and we need to step in when we see a brother or sister in a situation where human emotions are going to be over looked. "Calm Down" is what i like to say but you can say what ever you want.

Take care & Stay safe

Wow, thi kicking cop should lose his job and be prosecuted for Battery. The other cop should lose his job. For the kicking cop, If found guilty hopefully he will do jail time as an example to others. The saddest thing about this, is the criminal is probably some scum bag that should be in jail. Unfortunately these cops have now given this scum bag the opportunity to sue and win. This piece of vile c^@p, will now sit with a $20K to $50K settlement for about a year doing absolutely nothing but leeching off of society. This is the true crime by these dumb @$$ police officers...

Sickening.

There is no need to comment on this video-it speaks volumes by just watching it. If the public is aware of this, they need to realize that this was the actions of one man. Do not, repeat, Do not think that this indicates how Policemen treat them. To say,"we are only human" is not enough. Humans are arrested for this. As Police Officers, we have a higher standard. Don't generalize!-99.99% of Officers will not act this way. They are professionals trained to care.

Great demonstration on how to make a good arrest go BAD. Thanks for embarrassing us all Jackwagon!

Maxgoped @ 11/18/2011 2:55 PM

The other officer should have beat the kickers ass after the first kick.

Capt David-Ret LA County @ 11/18/2011 6:15 PM

I Can't blame the office for kicking him like that.

There is NO RESPECT for the law now days.

Cuff him @ 12/27/2011 7:03 PM

Officer 1 appears to cover the suspect with his body trying to wave off officer 2 so he can finally handcuff the guy. I can imagine him thinking, "Jeez, cut that out and help me cuff this guy already!" Officer 2 keeps pushing officer 1 out his way.
