Guess the man threw his hands up into the officers face too many times, looked he was going to hit him to me

Andy @ 9/27/2011 6:51 PM

Looks like the tourist got what he was looking for and lost.

greg @ 9/27/2011 8:37 PM

Looks like another moron got what he deserved the officer obviously felt threatened at this clown throwing his hands in the officers face and to prove the guy is clueless when hes being handcuffed he resists some more and tries to fight again

Harold Simpson @ 9/27/2011 8:37 PM

Punching someone out is just sooo much easier than bothering to learn come-alongs or any non-injurious technique.

Luis @ 9/27/2011 8:38 PM

Too many people think that they can just throw their hands into the face of Officers and continually taunt Officers and this guy finally got what he wanted.

Stan @ 9/27/2011 9:07 PM

I guess the video is totally interpretive. I hate when just a piece of the story is prsented. I would not pass judgment either way on this, based solely on the video. DT is great, but sometimes you have to kick it up an notch depending on the situation(?)

dingo3497 @ 9/28/2011 6:32 AM

The caption above says charges against the man were dropped. Was that the grabbing charges or the assault on a LEO charge?

theodore bowen @ 9/28/2011 6:56 AM

i dont know it doesnt look right your best weapon is a pen i dont think you could justify this this one it will be all IA

KB @ 9/28/2011 7:03 AM

It looks like that first punch knocked the guy out...he just falls over.

allen @ 9/28/2011 7:16 AM

when push comes to shove, he got what he was asking for. suspect was pushing the limit.

deportega @ 9/28/2011 7:45 AM

COM'ON MAN!!! You don't stick your hands in an alligator's mouth, don't stand to close to the edge, don't get froggy with a big guy who you know will kick your ass, and you definately don't raise your hands to PPOOLLIICCEE!!! common sense.

Captain David-LASO @ 9/28/2011 9:44 AM

Does not look like a sucker punch to me. That guy could have been about ready to 'palm punch' that officer in the nose, a brutal martial arts tactic...In my opinion the cop did the right thing..

scpdblue @ 9/28/2011 9:51 AM

I agree with theodore bowen @ 9/28/2011 6:56 AM on this one. The officer could argue he felt that the suspect was going to assault him,It might work.In the end the department will have to pay out...Good thing it wasn't a black suspect, the NAACP,The Rainbow Push Coalition that's Jesses Jacksons meat ticket,The nation of Islam,The new black panther movement and so-called community leaders would be crying No Justice,No Peace,Racist cop ect, ect, ect.Until that got payed too, then they would all go back behind the wall, like roaches when the light comes on.

Tom @ 9/28/2011 10:23 AM

Perhaps he threatened the officer?? And he did get into his personal space!! Video does not always tell the whole story now does it? Why is it that the officer is always in the wrong when we see things like this? We have a right to protect ourselves and we do not have to wait to be hit to do so!!!

Jon @ 9/28/2011 1:40 PM

The dude was lucky he didn't receive worse. What kind of drunk nimrod slaps a girl's ass and gets in an officer's face?

Red @ 9/28/2011 5:08 PM

Looks like he got just what he needed! I hope that the cop asked him this: "You feel better now, honey."

michael @ 9/28/2011 10:19 PM

It looks to me as if the officers patience had run out, the idiot suspect looked as if he was arguing and being uncooperative. I think the officer was responding to his mouth and body language.

Mac @ 9/29/2011 2:15 AM

If you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough.

Mac @ 9/29/2011 2:18 AM

Even without audio, it's clear that the subject was threatening in a physical sense....at one point he seems to indicate he's daring the officer to hit him, and then when he's walking, he turns back around and it appears as though he cocks his right hand a second before the officer hits him.....that's going to be the key here to the officers defense, if that is in fact what the guy did, cock his right hand in a fist....that's a pre-assault neon sign, and this guy can say what he wants....it changes nothing.

jOHNNY @ 9/29/2011 1:08 PM

Good Job Officer !!!

Leonard @ 9/29/2011 6:37 PM

The grabber and the LEO entered a gray area, hence dropped charges. Were I the LEO, I would have waited until I got behind the grabber and given him a well placed kick in the ass at the perineum just below and behind the scrotum. It is far more demeaning than a manly blow to the face. The grabber would have something to take car of for a while and I would hope for a unanimous consesus about my action. He needed his ass kicked more than a blow to the face.

rkpat @ 10/1/2011 5:07 PM

Mr. Poisson delivered about eight minutes of CRAP to Security and Police, and figured he was going to get away with his A-Hole behavior, and tried to deliver even more. Cop did EXACTLY what he should have done five minutes earlier. Cops only mistake was not cuffing the maggot at first contact. Waitress should be arrested for obstruction. Casino security in Las Vegas is about 10 times more effective than what I see in the longer version of the video.

DH @ 10/3/2011 5:25 PM

The suspect brought it on himself, all he had to do is keep walking out of the bar. But no, lets stop, turn, and start throwing hands towards the officers face...

keith @ 10/3/2011 7:20 PM

Looks like more of another law suit. oor judgement

Edited Vid? @ 12/27/2011 5:45 PM

I don't know if it changes the scenario much, but it looks like a skip in the video as the subject raises his right hand and thereafter gets punched. Who edited this thing?

Steve E @ 3/21/2012 10:11 PM

STAN: > what ? cant pass judgment ! 1) he touches the officer, ( alarm bells ) 2) he fail's to comply and turns on the officer, 3) he makes real and obvious physically forward threatening move 4) he puts his hand in a sudden move to the officers face ( the officers eyes can be poked in a split second and seriously injured 4) audio or not, his words don't matter, he could be saying " I will kick yr butt, or "i will kill you". OR even "have a nice day officer", it is his ACTIONS that count. 5) BOOM . officer takes warranted action and stops the threat and maintains the peace. This needs to be a 'how too" training video for all cops . Good Job officer

Random @ 3/24/2012 5:34 AM

The uncooperative casino patron seemed to be using a tactic I have seen employed by Latin gang members. They turn and throw up their hands at an officer. If he flinches’ they know he is afraid and what block he will use. If he does not react they know he is unprepared for a punch to the face. The patron squared off with his right shoulder toward to the officer. The patron close his hand activate his deltoid and trapezius muscles while slightly lowering his shoulder. This means the patron was preparing an uppercut punch. By not stepping forward, it meant it was going to be a punch to the head. According to Monadnock® training hits to the head may be lethal. The patron may or may not have changed his mind, but the action was not rightfully his to initiate. The officer chose to protect himself, as would I.

Good job contact officer, great assist backup. They could have handcuffed him earlier, but it may have been a curtsy to the club manager to walk the man out

Alan @ 2/25/2013 2:54 PM

If you guys would honestly feel threatened by a guy like this then you have no place in law enforcement. There are plenty of other people that would be glad to have your job.
