Creepy to see it from that point of view and just be a witness....

Bought & paid for, the shooter got what he was asking for, good shoot!

Thank God this whacko was stopped! Obviously, there is no type of security checkpoint/screening at the entrances of this courthouse. There is certainly great security camera coverage in the building...but all this does is record the carnage that can happen, and certainly could be used in court to prove a case. Although not the complete answer to prevention of a courthouse shooting is hard to argue against using properly trained security officers, metal detectors, ect... at each public entrance.
The sad fact is now that even small, rural communities must start providing security at government buildings to prevent such violent incursions. I know what I am speaking of, as I am a Court Security Officer by profession.

@ John Russel,
   [n. ram-peyj; v. ram-peyj, ram-peyj] Show IPA noun, verb, -paged, -pag·ing.
violent or excited behavior that is reckless, uncontrolled, or destructive.
a state of violent anger or agitation: The smallest mistake sends him into a rampage. The river has gone on a rampage and flooded the countryside.
verb (used without object)
to rush, move, or act furiously or violently: a bull elephant rampaging through the jungle.

Yes sir, it was a rampage. And one that was stopped by appropriate means.

I think I'm most surprised to see the guy walk down rhe stairs and almost immediately the heavily armed CIRT guys walked right up the stairs where they were met by a bunch of other bumpkins walking through the hallways like it was just another day. The response group must have passed the suspect in a flash of providence. He had the advantage yet they were alive and unchallenged. The suspect was able to move through the courthouse like he did without a single challenge and then exit the building to make his stand outside. Granted; we cannot live our lives and operate every public system on a paranoia level of max-10, but no courthouse or any other piece of the criminal justice system should ever be running with such complacency. There but for the grace of God, only the suspect died, but had the guy had a real tactical plan instead of one based upon emotion and happenstance, the judge would have been murdered and the courthouse turned into a seige until the suspect either surrendered or was neutralized. Every penny-pinching Board of Supervisors, Town Council, Courthouse management and security team must read the final after-action report and get theeir heads out of their

a--es and devote the necessary funds to prevent this from ever happening again!

How is it that this local courthouse has cameras all over recording this and I have never seen a recorded image of the plane that flew into the Pentagon?? One of the most secure, camera infested buildings of all.. read

Tactical @ 2/17/2012 11:17 AM

6 minutes before an officer comes up to that floor Yikes.
And no one watching the Camera feeds? Should have been swarmed while he was trying to figure out his weapon. And the IDIOT forgot his helmet, then drops his sweet Duster on the Lawn. Fail
