Looks like he got what he asked for. You think you can jump over the desk and take on a big cop, you're gonna get your throat choked out GOOD. LOL...

Sgt. Bogie @ 5/19/2011 5:43 PM

Wow brother...Iam glad you are OK. Iam impressed how you held your own. I got assaulted before and one minute feels like one hour before my help arrived. I hope the suspect got what he deserved! Good job!

former OH LEO @ 5/19/2011 5:50 PM

Take away the AIR, the fight leaves their limbs. PEACE & Be Safe up there in the Great Lakes Region

Ciscoborb @ 5/19/2011 5:56 PM

Lenny @ 5/19/2011 6:06 PM

Holy shit! once the ofc got him controlled- and knowing that he was ok- i was pissing myself! that POS bit of WAY more than he could chew! GREAT job!!!! you put up a hell of a fight!

J Edgar Hoover @ 5/19/2011 6:34 PM

Why was the suspect not handcuffed?? I bet that officer handcuffs all of his suspects in the future. (Handcuffs behind the back). That's what we were taught in Quantico. "It's the hands that will kill you". Remember??

POMlr @ 5/19/2011 6:49 PM

Po Po = 1

Idiot = 0

Nice job....too bad you didn't finish the jerk...save the taxpayers some $$$$$

Glad the PO is safe.

Michael @ 5/19/2011 8:18 PM

I LOVE IT,........the escalation of force when all else fails, choke the living shit out of the suspect. It worked, I'm sure this little piece of shit thought, I'm going kick this big cops ass." Whoops.......I may have misjudged this situation.... this just can't be happening to me".

RunItRagged @ 5/19/2011 10:01 PM

What am I seeing? This can't be an initial arrest? Too much familiarity. The officer turns his attention to the computer terminal? Where in hell is the arresting officer? The suspect is not cuffed to a stationary object on the booking desk? Folks... You can't have shoe salesmen acting as jailers or policemen. this how people die. I have seen it.

pdtrainer @ 5/20/2011 4:58 AM

Very happy that the Officer came out on top of this one - could have ended very badly. Why was the suspect not restrained or another Officer in the area with the attacked Officer- either of these would have prevented this. The Officer is inside a "secure" detention facility - why does he have a gun on his side and why does he not have a radio with shoulder mic? Just curious - stay safe!

scpdblue @ 5/20/2011 6:51 AM

wait till the NAACP and the ACLU see's this video. A white officer chocking a young black male. They will over look the part about the officer who was fighting for his life and that the suspect started the incident.

thomas murphy @ 5/20/2011 8:07 AM

What a cop !! Did what needed to be done and he went right back to work. Why won't the media show this kind of police work on their news? Oh, yeah, that puts the police in a good light ... -

That officer is a credit to the all police departments.

Commander Griffin / MPS D @ 5/20/2011 11:41 AM

The Officer reacted quickly and professionally in defending himself and restraining this dangerous subject. Hopefully this video will help convict this person in your court system. Hats off to this Officer.

Dave @ 5/20/2011 4:42 PM

Don't f around with us old fat cops. We used to call that "making him do the chicken!". Good job.

Bo @ 5/20/2011 6:42 PM

This was amazing! Thug underestimated this guy. Don't judge a book by it's cover, that "book" had some fight in him. Great Job!!

Sky Lambert @ 5/20/2011 8:30 PM

It looks like a jail booking area, it would have been nice to have a caged barrier and it probably took this incident to have one installed. HOWEVER, this officer did an outstanding job of not giving up for the entire fight. He stood his ground and survived what could've ended in his death. Kudos. I hope the bad guy in that jurisdiction is put away for as long as their law will allow.

chief @ 5/21/2011 5:07 AM

NICE JOB OFFICER.

CalSarge @ 5/22/2011 10:41 PM

I almost shouted, "Yeah!" when the officer elbowed the bad guy's face. That is part of Defensive Tactics. Glad the gun didn't get snatched. Good fighting officer!

ofc.Haynes @ 5/23/2011 6:05 AM

I just wish i was there to help you when the guy first jumped the desk. He wouldnt be walking again. Im very proud of you. Im sure you will do things differently next time. You go bro!!!

Jeff B. @ 5/25/2011 6:28 AM

Good Example as to why 1 Officer should never be left alone with an INMATE. Eventually there was a great response, but why wasn't one of those officers backing him up in the 1st place?

Boyce G @ 6/3/2011 11:17 PM

Glad about the happy ending. But I was wondering where everyboldy was? And why did he have to call for help so many times? But I especially noticed how they all bravely piled on the perp after the desk man already had everything under control. Real bad asses.

ted pride @ 6/6/2011 3:56 PM

I would have shot that cop dead right away.

Billy Simes @ 7/7/2011 8:32 PM

The clip reminds us that physical strength and toughness sometimes is important. Imagine how this would have finished up if, instead of a burly guy, the officer had been a 95 lb affirmative action weak as a kitten woman. The perp would have beaten her to a goulash of blood and bone before help arrived. Does it bother other people that, in the name of political correctness and affirmative action, not only mental standards but physical standards have been dumbed down, or even discarded altogether?

deportega @ 1/7/2012 7:01 AM

LMAO!! Anthony Thomas 29, of Cleveland Ohio is an IDIOT!!! Glad to see the Officer did the right thing, and used enough force to overcome the assault.

Tactical @ 2/17/2012 12:44 PM

Hahaha, Good Stuff. Pull your pants up Idiot! Surprised he made it over counter. He did do 2 pulls before launch. But got a Nice Choke for his effort.

Steve E @ 2/25/2012 1:29 AM

He forgot to head slam him over and over and over while chocking him on the counter, lol.

Paul @ 4/28/2012 7:20 AM

No sound...how nice. First of all, I see a problem here. Why on earth would a cop turn his back on an unhandcuffed prisoner??? Secondly, what took so long for the cavalry to step in??? Is the station that big where nobody hears screams or a scuffle? How many cops does it take to subdue 1 prisoner and cuff him? I am sure they would have heard the "gunshot"! The prisoner was choked within an inch of his life (not that he didn't deserve it) so how hard was it to cuff him. Where was this, "Keystone, OH"? Policy needs review!!!! You would think that by now, this could never happen!!!!

Martin Ullstrup @ 11/12/2012 4:54 PM

I'm a civilian but that police officer showed his stuff right at the start. He responded extremely fast and after a few moments I could see he'd be the winner . I salute the officer.

Kentucky @ 11/12/2012 6:01 PM

That was awesome! The officer did an excellent job countering the assault and taking care of the moron who obvious under estimated the officer's abilities. For those who complained about the slow response of other officers, the fight lasted less than a minute and a half before the other officers arrived. That is a lot faster than if it occurred on the street. Never the less, all officers involved did an excellent job and I'm very proud of each one of them!
