Respect for authority used to offer law enforcement a sometimes critical edge. Unfortunately respect for authority disappeared about the same time as shame.

...and who's "crystal~ball" can tell me what events lead up to this confrontation, prior to this edited video?

CarlosDJackal @ 3/30/2011 9:51 AM

Amazing how the video starts right at the supposed brutality. Makes you wonder what happened prior to that point, doesn't it?

captjsharp @ 3/30/2011 10:46 AM

In this day and age, it doesn't matter what happened before the cameras are turned on. We've got to all assume that our every move is under scrutiny. And it's going to change the way we do things. Not because we were doing it wrong before, but because cameras and video are so prevalent. One of the best things you can do is to get your story out first. When people realize that you aren't trying to hide anything, they tend to believe you. How you get your story out first is obviously a problem, but it's one we should all start thinking about how to address. Social media is a powerful tool for law enforcement when used, and used correctly. Captain John Sharp, Walker Police Department, Public Relations Officer.

What apparently is the problem?

Mac @ 3/30/2011 2:34 PM

Couple of drunken morons, a couple officers trying to deal with them, surrounding by a potentially hostile crowd......another day in the life. Not sure where the alleged police brutality was, but anyone who thinks they see it is a moron.

Sivsurfer79 @ 3/30/2011 5:46 PM

Everyone wants to critique the officers in this video saying how brutal it was. What we should be critiquing is all the cowards standing by watching and recording with their phones instead of helping the officers restrain the "criminals", Yes criminals!!! Don't critique acts your scared to perform yourself. That's all I'm saying!!

Kent @ 3/30/2011 6:07 PM

Why didn't they just cuff both of them and get the hell out of there?

adil @ 4/4/2011 1:16 PM

Good Arrest in a hostile croud.

Boyce G @ 6/3/2011 11:31 PM

Couple observations. Obviously we dont get to see the whole incident. But what we DO see is that ARMED THUG hiding behind a badge, slamming that UNARMED girl to the ground by her arm. Yea, that was really necessary. It's condoning THUGS like him that give ALL policemen a bad name. That and writing tickets for the money.

good arrest - kept their composure well amongst a rowdy drunk crowd.

retrocop @ 1/14/2012 12:41 PM

Another day at the beach! Everybody and their mother has a camera today. These guys looked like deer in headlights. If you're gonna make an arrest, don't stop until the job is done. Easy for me to say, but once a crowd starts gathering, your ability to control is greatly deminished.better to explain latter what looks like excessive force, than to appear completely out of control. Help from the crowd? Unlikely. I'd have to look again, but damn, was it only me, or did that seem like a lifetime.once you toss somebody, cuff them, and get the he'll out of dodge.good training exercise..
