The NLEOMF's Officers of the Month are honored each May during National Police Week in D.C. POLICE Magazine captured the courageous tales of some of these "living legends" from 2009. Officer John Krahn of the Elm Grove (Wis.) PD—picked as the December officer—risked his life to extricate a family from a minivan stopped on railroad tracks.
