N.Y. MS-13 Member Gets 35 Years for Gang Murder
A U.S. circuit court judge sentenced a New York MS-13 gang member who goes by the moniker "Joker" to 35 years in prison for the murder of a fellow 16-year-old, female gang member. Edwin "Joker" Henriquez, a member of La Mara Salvatrucha ("MS-13") on Long Island, pleaded guilty to the murder of 16-year-old Olivia Melendez Mendoza ("Melendez") in Old Westbury, N.Y.

Drug transactions can be coordinated through these social networks as can green light or hit lists, and even simultaneous prison riots or escape attempts from Central American prison systems.

MS-13 Member Gets Federal Death Sentence
Alejandro Umana, 25, had been found guilty in April by a federal jury of killing the brothers in a restaurant in Greensboro. He also had been found guilty of conspiring to extort money from Charlotte drug dealers to increase MS-13's revenues, and of intimidating witnesses to prevent them from cooperating with authorities investigating the murders.
