Sergeant Wendy Brewer and Officer Kegan Bostic kicked into action, searching the kitchen for something for the man to eat. Finding the cupboards bare but for a box of pancake mix, they set about the simple gesture of making a stack of pancakes for the man in need.

The officers, who are assigned to the 77th Precinct, were initially called to the home on Sterling Place in Crown Heights to check on 22-year-old Tonie Wells, but didn't find anything and left.

Colorado Deputy Injured, Suspect Killed in Fight
A suspect left the apartment and when the deputy tried to apprehend him, a fight began. During the fight, the deputy fired his gun, striking the suspect. The deputy suffered injuries to the head and neck.
