Updated: TN K-9 Lost After Chasing Coyotes into the Woods

The Maryville (TN) Police Department is asking the public with help recovering a missing K-9.

K-9 Eunice, a Belgian Malinois, got into an altercation with several coyotes on duty Sunday night when his handler let him out of the police vehicle for a relief break.

K-9 Eunice was last seen pursuing the coyote pack in the area of Sevierville Rd and S Washington St. After K-9 Eunice entered a wooded area and out of sight from the handler, another violent altercation was heard and it is unknown if K-9 Eunice is injured,” the Maryville PD said on Facebook.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for his recovery.

The Maryville PD reports on Facebook that K-9 Eunice has been found and is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
