The St. Louis Police Department continued its search for two suspects involved in a gunfight with officers responding to a home invasion on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a home in the 6200 block of Famous Avenue about 12:10 p.m. and approached a blue Ford Explorer idling in an alley behind the house. A passenger in the vehicle pointed a gun at one of the officers, prompting the officer to fire shots at the SUV, reports the St. Louis Dispatch .
