A college football player — listed as a red-shirt freshman linebacker for Upper Iowa University — was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly assaulting an Iowa City Police officer using a "football move," according to KWWL-TV.
Iowa City police came upon 19-year-old Turner Ellis standing over a man who was knocked out. Ellis reportedly fled on foot and police pursued him.
Ellis allegedly "pushed an officer to the ground, causing a knee injury and tearing the officer's pants," according to the report.
Ellis — who had a .142 blood alcohol level — is facing an assault charge along with public intoxication and interference with official acts.
