A deputy with the Shelby County (TN) Sheriff's Office was wounded and a gunman was killed in a gunfight in Memphis on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Commercial Appeal, helby County Sheriff spokesman Capt. Anthony Buckner said a multi-agency gang unit was serving a felony arrest warrant for a subject—identified as Willie Hudson—when gunfire erupted.
One deputy was struck several times by gunfire and another suffered injury from a dog bite, Buckner said.
Both were transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injuries, which were described as non-life-threatening.
