Early Sunday morning, officers responding to reports of gunshots found a D.C. Special Police Officer had been shot and killed. The officer has been identified as 33-year-old Shawn Minor, of Forestville, MD, reports WRBL.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at the time of the shooting Minor was in uniform and on-duty. Fire and emergency medical services responded to the scene and found that he displayed no signs consistent with life.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
