The women completed a shotgun training course offered by the Armed Citizen Project on Sunday, and took away a scattergun at no charge from the group. The women live in the Oak Forest neighborhood.

The organization, which plans to offer training classes in Dallas, San Antonio, and Tucson, Ariz., in the next few weeks, is working to expand its giveaways to 15 cities by the end of the year, including Chicago and New York, reports the Associated Press.

The group announced the initiative in March.
