Bell Helicopter has introduced the 412EPI, an upgraded 412-platform helicopter offering greater situational awareness and speed to law enforcement agencies, according to the company.
Bell introduced the 412EPI at the Heli-Expo trade show, which opened Tuesday in Las Vegas.
The Bell 412EPI includes a fully integrated glass flight deck and boosts performance with Pratt and Whitney's PT6T-9 Twin Pac engines. The helicopter delivers 15% more horsepower than its predecessor, according to Bell.
The company also introduced a retractable wheeled landing gear option for the Bell 429 to "address customer demand for missions requiring ground taxi," according to a release.
Several agencies use Bell 412 copters, including the NYPD's Aviation Unit and U.S. Park Police.
