Seattle Police Chief John Diaz suspended three patrol officers for using "gutter language" during a traffic stop with two suspected gang members. The chief handed out 20 days without pay to two officers and 15 days without pay to the third.

Deputy Robert Moran, who is still employed and on patrol, was convicted of drunk driving and sentenced to six months in jail. During the June 29, 2008 incident, Deputy Moran was drunk and allegedly speeding when he collided with a smaller car, seriously injuring the other driver.
