Jury Recommends Death for Tampa Cop Killer

A jury has recommended death for Humberto Delgado Jr., who was convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of Tampa Police Cpl. Mike Roberts. Jurors convicted Delgado of all four counts of murder earlier in the week.

Lafayette (Ind.) Police have released dash-cam footage showing the fatal shooting of a suspect who stabbed an officer in the face with a large knife. The shooting happened Oct. 19 after a nearly four-mile chase.

Calif. Cop Killed by Suspected Bank Robber

Vallejo (Calif.) Police Officer James Capoot was fatally shot Thursday while trying to apprehend a bank robbery suspect. Officer Capoot, 45, was shot after chasing a suspect into a backyard.

Justice Department Probes Miami Police Shootings

The Miami Police Department's policies, training and deployment practices will be scrutinized in a federal rights probe announced by the U.S. Justice Department today. The probe will focus on at least four of the seven fatal shootings of black men.
