LAPD SWAT Weapons Stolen from Training Facility

A cache of Los Angeles Police Department submachine guns and handguns was stolen last week from a secured building used by the department's SWAT unit, raising fears that the weapons, which police had altered to fire only blanks, could be converted back to lethal use.

N.J. Cop Killed In DWI Crash

Mount Arlington (N.J.) Police officer Joseph Wargo was killed when a drunk driver traveling at a high rate of speed collided into his patrol car. Officer Wargo, 38, was on patrol when he was struck while driving east on Route 80 at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
