A Minneapolis man who called 911 so he could "hurt some cops" has been sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison for the ambush attack. Marsenior P. Johnson, 39, was sentenced Friday.

Detroit Cop Critically Wounded by Murder Suspect

Two Detroit Police officers were wounded Tuesday evening, when a murder suspect opened fire from inside a vehicle. A sergeant and officer had stopped a vehicle being driven by the suspect.

W.Va. Sheriff Shot, Killed Eating Lunch

Officer Brandon Kountz apparently died of a heart attack while rushing to assist other officers after a body alarm. He had served the agency for 11 months.

NRA Report Argues for Weapons Training for School Personnel

The School Shield Initiative task force recommended improved training for school resource officers and a training program for designated school personnel that wish to be armed. The model for both, as outlined in the report, involves 40 to 60 hours of comprehensive instruction.

The men have been identified as 44-year-old Bryan Allen Tucker, who has been indicted on capital murder charges, and 39-year-old John Marlin King, who’s in jail on theft charges.
