California Officer Shoots Hostage Taker

Three armed robbers had forced the couple into a Marietta apartment. When a Marietta officer arrived, one of the suspects had taken a hostage. The officer gave the suspect lawful commands to drop the weapon and release the hostage. When the man refused, the officer shot him.

Video: Gator Takes Bite Out of Deputy's Patrol Car

A 10-foot alligator ran afoul with the law in Florida, after attaching its jaws to the front bumper of an Alachua County Sheriff's deputy's Crown Victoria. After the gator affixed its jaws to the front bumper, the deputy reversed the vehicle to loosen the animal's grip.
