Officer Deanne Pulley, a 21-year veteran, was struck twice by the vehicle driven by Michelle Marsh, 31, outside of Lizards Pub and Grill at about 10 p.m. Sunday. Pulley's partner, Officer Christin Rudell, returned fire, striking Marsh in the abdomen.

Arizona Law Would Allow Guns On Campus

The Arizona Legislature is considering several new gun laws, including a "Firearms Omnibus" bill that would make Arizona the second state in the nation to require universities and communities to allow guns on campus and one of 10 that permit guns inside public government buildings such as the state Capitol.

Oakland Police Kill Man Pointing Fake Rifle

Officers fatally shot 39-year-old Matthew Cicelski outside his ex-girlfriend's home as he walked around the 5500 block of Taft Avenue clad in camouflage clothing. Neighbors reported Cicelski walking up and down and "prancing" along Taft Avenue as if he were "patrolling" the street.

California Gang Detective Wounded By Gunfire From Vehicle

The detective driving the vehicle was struck once in the upper torso by gunfire and was immediately transported to a local hospital by his partner. He's 30 years old, a seven-year member of LBPD and expected to fully recover.
Officer Jayme Lee Biendl was discovered unresponsive at her duty post in the sanctuary of the Monroe Correctional Complex on Saturday.

Washington Corrections Officials Respond to Officer's Slaying

On Monday, the state's top correctional official told POLICE Magazine the agency was well aware of Byron Sherf's violent past and allowed him additional access privileges, because he had shown good behavior. It was one reason Sherf was transferred to the medium-security Monroe facility.

PETA Donation Assists Wounded N.J. K-9

After learning that a K-9 dog named Jordon was shot in the chest during a standoff between Salem (N.J.) Police and a suspect on on Wednesday, staffers from the animal-rights group PETA are chipping in and sending a contribution to the Salem County K-9 Association.

After the suspect slipped, the hostage ran and six officers opened fire, creating a cross-fire that resulted in one officer being struck in the leg by friendly fire.
