14 Agencies Purchase Spillman Software In First Quarter

Fourteen public safety agencies purchased software from Spillman Technologies for the first time during the first quarter of 2011, bringing the total number of Spillman customers to more than 900 public safety agencies in 35 states nationwide. Also, 45 agencies expanded existing Spillman systems, the company announced.

Safariland Introduces Extended Range Less-Lethal Munitions

Safariland has released five 40-mm, specialty impact rounds that allow corrections and tactical officers to deliver less-lethal munitions to incapacitate an aggressive, non-compliant subject. The Defense Technology rounds can be fired from a variety of 40-mm launchers and provide optimal accuracy from 10–70 meters (about 30–230 feet).

Ruger, at the NRA Show 2011, announced the SR-556E carbine, which the company is marketing as a value-priced alternative of the SR-556. Both rifles include the two-stage piston and multi-stage regulator that runs cooler and cleaner than traditional AR-style rifles.
