Canadian Officer Stabbed, Pedestrians Run Down in Terror Attacks

Canadian police charged a Somali refugee with five counts of attempted murder on Sunday after they said he stabbed a police officer and ran down several pedestrians with a vehicle in Edmonton, Alberta, in what officials called an act of terrorism.

A nine-year veteran of the Lafayette (LA) Police Department was shot and killed Sunday night at a convenience store on Moss Street by a gunman who was soon taken into custody.

Several Off-Duty California Officers Wounded in Vegas Shooting

An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy, and a Bakersfield officer were reportedly wounded in last night's mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. A civilian employee of the LASD was also wounded in the shooting.

A gunman on the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas Strip casino opened fire Sunday night on an outdoor country music concert below, killing more than 50 people — including two off-duty police officers — and wounding in excess of 200, authorities said.
