A teenage gang member was arrested Wednesday for allegedly spray-painting the face and body of a 6-year-old boy who saw him vandalizing a wall, authorities said.

Another teenager allegedly restrained the child while the 15-year-old who was arrested sprayed him with blue paint, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Capt. James Hellmold.

LEO Fatalities Plummet 41 Percent During First Six Months of 2008

After an unexpected surge in 2007, the number of law enforcement officers killed in the United States plummeted 41 percent during the first six months of this year, reaching the lowest level in more than four decades, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) have announced.

Atlanta police are looking for a woman who reportedly threw a gray kitten out of her moving car.

According to Elasha Germain, a specialist at the Atlanta Humane Society, a red-haired woman in her mid-50s tried to leave three cats at the center on June 21. When Germain told her the center was full and could not take any more animals, the woman turned violent — on the cats.

Hit-and-Run on Anchorage Police Car Ends in Fatal Wreck
