New Recruits Join Savannah-Chatham PD
Fourteen new recruits have joined the Savannah-Chatham (Ga.) Police Department, following 19 weeks of training in the academy. The recruits, who were sworn in July 26 at the Savannah Civic Center, included Nicholas Wissner, a former Army Ranger with five combat deployments.

Jury Finds Former Parkland SRO Not Guilty of All Charges Stemming from Mass Shooting
Scot Peterson faced seven counts of felony child neglect and was the first law enforcement officer in the U.S. to face criminal charges stemming from his alleged inaction during the shooting, which killed 17 people and wounded 17 more.

The Huntsville Public Safety Department on Wheeler Avenue became a crime scene when police say a man attacked one of their officers late Wednesday afternoon. Soon after this attack, the man was dead. Police say the investigation so far indicates this was not an isolated incident.
