Officer Who Shot Tony Robinson Wants to Return to Madison PD Duty After Being Cleared by DA
The officer remains on paid leave, pending an internal investigation to see if he violated MPD policies during the incident. That review could still subject him to department sanctions or firing. It has not been completed, officials said, but its results are expected soon.

Protesters Hold Mock Trial of Wisconsin Officer who Killed Tony Robinson
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin had warned that anyone who broke the law would be arrested. At the end of the event, police arrested some two dozen protesters who locked arms and blocked an intersection near the courthouse. As the police were detaining those protesters, onlookers hurled insults at the officers, including racial epithets.
