Police officers must wear a uniform, boots, and a stifling ballistic vest. Yet despite the limitations of regulations on duty, lighter clothing is an option, even if you're not a bicycle cop.

Atlanco TRU Tactical Response Uniform

Tru-Spec’s new TRU Tactical Response Uniform is based on the ACU recently adopted by the U.S. Army, available from Tru-Spec. With input from tactical officers, Tru-Spec has improved the TRU with zigzag stitching on the hook and loop of both the sleeve cuffs and the mandarin collar, extra deep front trouser pockets with double-reinforced openings, new YKK PowerHook hook-and-loop fastenings, and hidden 5x5-inch pockets in each side of the trouser cargo pockets.

Magnum Tactical Apparel

Magnum’s new line of Tactical Apparel is now available in stores. Magnum guarantees its Tactical Apparel will not fade more than three shades from the original garment color as a result of normal wear and tear within six months from the date of purchase. The stealth spec line currently consists of pants and short- or long-sleeved shirts. All garments are NFPA-Approved.

5.11 Tactical Series Tactical Dress Uniform

The new Tactical Dress Uniform or TDU from 5.11 Tactical Series has been designed to replace Battle Dress Uniforms, or BDUs. 5.11 Tactical Series product developers utilized input from police and corrections officers to design the new TDU. The shirt features hidden document pockets on the front chest, triple stitching, and 28 bartacks for strength. A bi-swing shoulder allows for greater mobility and the sleeves feature removable neoprene elbow pads.

Elbeco Paragon Plus Uniform Shirt

Elbeco has upgraded its Paragon Plus uniform shirt with a new stretch feature, which offers up to eight percent stretch across the garment. The shirt is also designed with five UltraCrease permanent military creases, pleated and scalloped pockets, and cross-stitched shoulder straps for a professional look.
