Roger served over 20 years with the NYPD, where he spearheaded the NYPD’s first dedicated facial recognition unit. The unit has conducted more than 8,500 facial recognition investigations, with over 3,000 possible matches and approximately 2,000 arrests. Roger’s enhancement techniques are now recognized worldwide and have changed law enforcement’s approach to the utilization of facial recognition technology.
More than 60 officers attended an Active Shooter Panel discussion at TREXPO East, participating in a lively discussion of how to respond to lone gunmen, coordinated attacks, and even terrorist incidents.
In each monthy issue during 2008, Police Magazine's editors examined the state of American law enforcement. The series won a prestigious magazine award and gave us new insight into the challenges faced by police now and in the years to come.
