SHOT Show 2012 featured plenty of new gear for law enforcement officers. The show drew more than 61,000 attendees to Las Vegas for the January event and added several "law enforcement only" halls for vendors. At SHOT Show 2012, 5.11 Tactical introduced its Light Entry Kit of tools for patrol-officer first responders. The kit includes the C9 Multi Breacher, a 32-inch pry bar with claw head; C7 Multi Pry, a 2.75-inch pry bar; C6 Multi Sledge offering a dual head with a hammer and multi-purpose saw; Mini-Ram; and training door.
At SHOT Show 2012, ATK's BlackHawk introduced its women's apparel line that includes tactical pants and shirt, a Performance Polo, off-duty wear, and sportswear. Spokeswoman Aysha Webb showed the apparel to POLICE Magazine.
Safariland introduced the Kona patrol bike at SHOT Show 2012. The rugged, all-terrain bicycle arrives with purpose-built features such as a 30-speed drive-train, 29-inch wheels, and hydraulic disc brakes for greater stopping power.
Body armor suppliers Point Blank, Protective Products, PACA, and Paraclete merged in late 2011. POLICE Magazine spoke with executives from the company at SHOT Show 2012 in Las Vegas about what the merger means for law enforcement officers who use their products.
