Sheriff’s Office Returns Property After 29 Years
After being evicted in 1977, Mr. John Bayles then of Mission, Kansas and now of Toronto, Kansas had left behind property he didn’t know he had left. Once the moving company and emptied the apartment deputies searched the apartment for any remaining items and found $23.87 in U.S. currency, a silver dollar over 100 years old, several foreign coins, and commemorative coins. This money was logged and placed into the Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff’s property room but never claimed. Until now.

FBI: Violent and Property Crime Fell In Early 2011
Violent crime and property crimes reported to law enforcement fell in the first half of 2011 despite a stagnant economy, the FBI announced Monday. The number of violent crimes declined 6.4%, when compared with figures from the first six months of 2010. The number of property crimes fell 3.7% in the same time frame.

Detroit Chief Says Crime Dropped 12% Because of Legally Armed Citizens
The chief's call to arms, which first came in December, 2013, has been answered by thousands of men and women tired of being victims and eager to reclaim their beleaguered city. In 2014, some new 1,169 handgun permits were issued, while 8,102 guns were registered with Detroit's police department - many to prior permit holders who bought new firearms. So far in 2015, nearly 500 permits have been issued by the department and more than 5,000 guns have been registered.
